For patients who need a deeper level of relaxation, oral conscious sedation involves taking a prescribed medication approximately one hour before your procedure. You’ll remain awake and able to respond to our team, but feel profoundly at ease, and many patients have little to no memory of the procedure afterward. Because the effects can linger for several hours, you’ll need to arrange a ride to and from our office.
For more complex implant cases or patients with significant anxiety, IV sedation offers the deepest level of comfort we provide. Administered through a small IV line, this option allows our team to carefully manage your sedation level throughout the procedure while closely monitoring your vital signs. You may drift into a light sleep and have little recollection of your treatment, and a responsible adult will need to accompany you home afterward.
